Musician. He was raised in Vũng Tàu City's Thắng Tam. "Khánh Băng," his artist name, was inspired by his friend's name. With the guidance and support of musician Võ Đức Thu, who performed on the mandolin at Radio Vietnam, he began his career. He played his guitar at every major concert from 1955 until 1959. He was regarded as the first Vietnamese artist to play electric guitar on stage when he did so in 1960 while performing in the tea restaurant he had owned at Thị Nghè. Along with Phùng Trọng, Dương Quang Định, and Dương Quang Lê Minh, he founded a band in 1962. His band was chosen to be the Vietnam Television Network's annual band in 1967."Nụ cười thơ ngây," a duet performed on the Vietnam Television Network by Minh Trang and Anh Ngọc, was the first song he composed. In addition to "Nụ cười thơ ngây," some of his other well-known songs are "Sầu đông," "Có nhớ đêm nào," and "Tiếng mưa rơi." In addition to "Khánh Băng," he also went by the nicknames "Anh Minh," "Nhật Hà," "Thủy Thanh Lam," and "Thủy Hà." He wrote up to a hundred Southern-inspired songs between 1991 and 1996. On the first day of the 2005 Vietnamese New Year, he passed away.
