Jason is the son of Soloman Frady and Margaret Aveline Frizzell. He was born in Jackson county, NC. His brothers include John, Albert, Lynch and Julius Frady. His sisters include Margaret, Mary "Molly" and Rebecca Moriah Cordelia Frady. His parents have 12 children, but only 7 of them were surviving by 1900 when Jason, his wife and children farmed land they shared with Jason's parents in Greens Creek, Jackson county, NC.

Jason married Nancy McMahan with whom he has three sons, William Riley, Arch R and Rufus Sherman Frady and three daughters, Alsilina, Cynthia and Margaret Frady. He then married Martha Elmina Barker and with her has son, Jason Pearson Frady and daughters, Martha Elizabeth "Lizzie", Fairlander, Ida Belle, Harriet "Hattie" and Alice.

Jason was admitted to the hospital in late Summer 1919 from Swain county and died here the following Spring of chronic valvular heart disease.

It is suspected that Jason's brother, John, also died in care here as did two of John's sons, James Wesley Frady and Robert "Bob" Erastus Frady.
