Austrian stage and film actress and singer. She studied acting with Max Reinhardt in Vienna, and performed in the company of the Theater in der Josefstadt. Egger made roughly 35 films in her acting career, including Fanfaren der Liebe (1951) and Fanfaren der Ehe (1953), which became the basis for Billy Wilder's Some Like It Hot. In 1960 she retired from the entertainment profession but continued to work as a medical assistant in Berlin at the Berliner Bundesgesundheitsamt until 1973.
