Born in Greenville, NC, on September 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Jessie B. and Hattie Virginia Blue Kidd. Mrs. Mathis retired from C&S Bank and later volunteered at Logan Elementary School for over 25 years. She was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling, cooking and Atlanta Braves Baseball.
