Wife of Henry H. Eilenstein; daughter of Wm H. and Sarah McKinnie Basnett

Mrs. Martha Eilenstine, widow of the late H. H. Eilenstine, died Friday morning, March 2nd, at her home after a lingering illness.

Miss Martin Basnett was born in Cole county, Missouri, March 26, 1849. She came to Laclede county with her parents when about 20 years of age. She united with the Baptist church at an early age and always lived a devoted Christian life. She was united in marriage to H. H. Eilenstine June 16, 1883. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Andrew Johnson of Orla, E. D. Eilenstine of Lebanon, and one daughter, who died in infancy. She also is survived by five step children, Mrs. E. E. Basnett, C. M. and F. R. Eilenstine of Lebanon, Mrs. P. D. Pline of Milba, Idaho, and Mrs. A. J. Stewart of Springfield. There also are a number of grandchildren and four brothers and two sisters. E. E., J. R., and J. W. Basnett of Lebanon, T. T. Basnett of Bond, Miss., Mrs. A. G. Herrington of Grangeville, Idaho, and Mrs. R. P. Wilson of Lebanon.

Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at the home, conducted by Rev, Frank Moyer. Interment was in the Lebanon cemetery.
