Folk figure. Vanushka Cárdenas Barajas is the protagonist of a well-known Guatemalan legend. Of Hungarian origin, Vanushka arrives in the city with a circus. One of the most popular performances of the circus was an artistic work called the Odyssey, where Vanushka was the main attraction. Legend has it that one day the governor's son attended the circus performance, who was immediately impressed by Vanushka's beauty and by the exciting show she provided by taming large animals. In her act, she commonly requested help of a brave person in the audience, to help her in her act of taming animals. The governor's son was the one who on this occasion decided to help her in the circus ring, after this fortuitous encounter, he visited her several times in secret, resulting in a passionate love. Already in love, They realized that it was a forbidden love, since both the governor and Vanuhska's parents opposed the courtship. The young man's father, realizing the seriousness of the romance and unable to persuade his son to leave Vanushka, decided to send him to Spain, which caused her great sadness.
