Soccer player. Mario Salvador Camposeco López was a Guatemalan soccer player known for being one of the best players in the history of Guatemala. His career as a soccer player began in 1938 with the América de Quetzaltenango team. Later he joined the Xelajú team, where he became the captain, helping the team become champion of the department of Quetzaltenango for 10 consecutive seasons (1940-1950). He came to participate in multiple national and sporting events, becoming the second best scorer in the history of Guatemala behind his teammate Carlos Toledo. After his death in a plane crash, Quetzaltenango Club Xelajú changed its name to "Xelajú MC" in his honor and the team's stadium was also renamed "Estadio Mario Camposeco" in his honor.
