Author. Carlos Eduardo Wyld Ospina was a Guatemalan novelist, poet, and essayist. He was one of the founders of the Academy of Geography and History of Guatemala and was Professor of Literature at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala. In Mexico, together with Porfirio Barba Jacob, he founded the newspaper "Churubusco," directed the humorous magazine "El Zaraguate" and was part of the literary group "Los Líricos." In Guatemala, he was editor of the official newspaper "Diario de Centroamérica." With the rise of the unionist movement at the end of 1919, he collaborated with the newspaper "El Pueblo," which was in opposition to President Manuel Estrada Cabrera until his overthrow in April 1920.
