On Sunday , March 13, battle-worn from fighting pancreatic cancer, Brenda Lieghley sang "There is a Redeemer" in her church.

On Friday, April 8, 2022, as family finished singing the last note of that same song to her, she looked up and peacefully and beautifully took her last breath on earth and her first in heaven.

Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who would selflessly do anything for those she loved. For Brenda, being a Christian was more than just a title.

She was a shining light for Jesus.

She always said that the most important decision in her life was where she would spend eternity and the second was who she married.

She loved to share Romans 10:9-10. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Everyone who knew Brenda, loved her. She leaves a tremendous void and will be missed by so many, especially her family.

Just as she lived well, Brenda finished well!

"Well done, my good and faithful servant. Great is your reward!"

Preceded in death by parents, Hubert and Delphia Rogers; and granddaughter, Eliana Horne.

Survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard; daughters, Tricia Delarca (Jesse) and Teri Horne (Ken); grandchildren, Noah, Elizabeth, Jonas, and Elijah; and siblings, Glenda Blair, Pat Kwas, and Tony Rogers.

Funeral service will be Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 820 Whitepond Dr, Akron. Visitation will be from 11 am until the service at the church. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth.
