Charles was one of eight children born to Rev.Francis A and Rebecca Wagner Hoffman In Reading, Berks County,Pa. His father was a renowned elder in the Eastern Conference of the Evangelical Church.
He and a younger brother,Edward moved to New York.where he worked as a photographer.He died at the age of 98. Charles never married and was survived by
many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his parents and siblings.
His death index indicated burial in New York but did not note the cemetery.
