Constance-Adèle Chaperon was born December 20, 1827, in La Malbaie, Québec, Canada to parents, Michel Chaperon and Constance Simard. She was baptized the same day at St-Étienne Catholic Church, La Malbaie, Québec.

Constance-Adèle's siblings are: Thomas Chaperon; Jean Chaperon; and an infant who passed away shortly after birth. She is the granddaughter of Lewis Chaperon and Jane Shadforth; and Alexis Ange Louis Simard and Suzanne Perron, all of Québec, Canada.

Constance-Adèle married Dr. Pierre Cyrille Adolphe Dubois August 12, 1851, at Saint François-Xavier Catholic Church in Chicoutimi, Québec. Their children are: Marie-Léonide Dubois Floyd; Pierre-Ernest Dubois; Marie-Émilie-Edwidge Dubois Underwood; Thomas Dubois; Marie Hélène "Helen" Dubois Steele; Georges-Alphonse Dubois, who died as an infant; George Adolphe Dubois, who died as an infant; and Joseph-Eugène Dubois.

While Constance-Adèle cared for the children and the home, Dr. Pierre Cyrille Adolphe Dubois owned farmland and served as the town physician; Director of the Institute of Artisans and Library Association; and School Board President in Chicoutimi. During a period of political upheaval and safety concerns in 1866, Constance-Adèle and family left Chicoutimi, taking with them her husband's aged parents. The family lived in Arthabaska, Québec, which later became part of Victoriaville, and they relocated to Limestone County, Texas in 1873.

Constance-Adèle has many descendants and extended family members throughout the U.S., Canada, and elsewhere, who love and remember her.
