Louise Jones Bell, 93, a resident of Oxford, died Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Universal Healthcare/Oxford nursing home.
Mrs. Bell was born on September 20, 1920 in Ashland, Alabama. She was a resident of Granville County, NC since 1949 and a member of Amis Chapel Baptist Church. Most of her years were spent working with her late husband serving the Amis Chapel community through their country store.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Arthur (Leon) Bell; and her son-in-law, John Ray Jones.
She is survived by two children, Sandra B. Jones of Mechanicsville, VA, and Arthur Leroy (Lee) Bell and spouse, Meredith, of Hayes, VA; two grandchildren, Arthur R. (Art) Jones and spouse, Rebecca, of Mechanicsville, VA, and Alison B. Foley and spouse, Jake, of Williamsburg, VA; and one great-grandson, John W. Jones of Mechanicsville, VA.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 11, 2013, from 1-2 p.m. at Amis Chapel Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Terry Howard. Burial will be in the church cemetery immediately after the service.
