Alex was born in Michigan, the son of Ezra and Emeline Moe. He was raised in Michigan and Iowa.. In 1862 he is with his father Ezra buying land in Lassen County,California. For the next 10 years he tried his hand at mining in Nevada and Washington. At his death he was living in Skamokawa, Washington. I believe he was married to Laura Moe but they
divorced in 1888 in Cowlitz county
