Marie S. Duncan, 85, of East Flat Rock went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 13, 2007, at the Pardee Care Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Henderson County, the daughter of the late Zeb Stepp and Edith Sexton Stepp, and wife Vergil E. Duncan, who died in 2000. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Stepp and Charles Stepp; and a son-in-law, Keith Holbert. She was a homemaker and a Sunday school teacher for 25 years of the Adult Ladies Class and assistant teacher for the younger ladies Sunday school class. She was a charter member of Fairhaven Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Holbert of Flat Rock and Gale Dermid of Anderson, S.C.; two sisters, Dorothy Rhodes of Hendersonville and Helen Blythe of Interlachen, Fla.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fairhaven Baptist Church. The Revs. Lawrence Rhodes and Chris Norris will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. An online register book is available at www.thosshepherd.com.
