Anthony Sterczala, one of the widely known residents of Webster of Polish birth, died at his home, 40 Pearl Street, last night, aged 59 years. He has been a resident of Webster for many years.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Constance Sterczala, his wife having died and also leaves eight children: Michael, Frank, Stanley, and Thomas of Webster; Mrs. Walter Golash, Mrs. Anthony Wolak, Mrs. Frank Lorkiewicz, all of Webster; and Mrs. John Udiljak of Pennsylvania. Eighteen grandchildren also survive.
The funeral arrangements are in charge of Undertaker Bernard J. Shaw, have not been completed.

Anton Sterczala came over on the boat "Freidrich de Grosse" (Frederick the Great) on April 17, 1897. He was 31 years old and his wife Hedwig was 29 years old. The boat came from Bremen, Germany. Their nationality is listed as "German" but the family was Polish. They lived in Prussia prior to moving to the United States and many Polish ancestor's nationalities are listed as German if they came from Prussia.
Anton and Hedwig came with four of their children: Michael, aged 4; Franz, aged 3; Stanislawa, aged 4; and Stanislaus, aged 3 months. Anton brought over 2 pieces of baggage and his wife 4 pieces.
