"During the Civil War, 2 brothers, Nathan Squires and Asher Squires, enlisted in the 100th Indiana Infantry. Nathan (1830 - 1895) (my 3rd great grandfather, survived the war, and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Auburn, DeKalb County, IN. His brother, Asher Squires (1838 - 1963) died at Paducah, Kentucky. He was originally buried in Paducah, Kentucky, and later, with many, many more, was removed to Mound City National Cemetery. This is the man, Asher Squires, who is buried in Mound City. For reference, see 'Roll of Honor' books, (1871), Vol. 26, Mound City National Cemetery, Burial Number 2136, Name: Squire, A. C., Grave number 4418"

Awaiting photo of stone in this location and backup information from volunteer at this cemetery before changing. Initial findings are that these are two different Nathan Squires
