Linda Fender Edwards, 72, of Moultrie, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 11 surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Jason Corey Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at Baker Funeral Home. Mrs. Edwards was born September 28, 1948 in Adel to the late Frank Fender and Lillian Lavon Roberts Fender. After graduating from Cook County High School, she married Clark Edwards with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. In 1983 she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Valdosta Technical School. After working for a short time at Smith Hospital in Hahira, she decided to further her education at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College graduating in 1987 at the top of her class with an Associate Degree in Nursing. After becoming a Registered Nurse, she began her career at South Georgia Medical Center where she worked in many departments throughout her tenure including the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and Cardiac Catherization Lab. Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Wayne Fender; and her sister, Elizabeth Fender Thomas.
