Full name is John Bloxham (not Jonathan) - son of Dianah (Diana) Harris and Thomas Sr. Bloxham. He was always known as "John". Sometimes called "John, son of Thomas", which was often interpreted as "John Thomas".
He came to America with his parents and four siblings, plus extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins. They boarded the sailing ship "Echo" at Liverpool when he was three years old. His infant brother, Isaac II died a month out to sea.
They immigrated to Utah with LDS Church members; his mother died at Winter Quarters, Pottawattamie County, Iowa before the spring of 1847 and his father married Elizabeth Sheen by May of that year. They traveled in the Edward Hunter-Joseph Horn Company of Saints in June of 1847 to the Salt Lake City Valley in Utah.
He married, in the Salt Lake LDS Endowment House on 2 February 1867 to Alice Ann Marston Hill [Bloxham]. (she was divorced from his older brother, Thomas Jr.) After spending nearly twenty years near Kaysville, Davis County, Utah, his family had settled at Downey, Bannock County Idaho by 1870.
He was father to nine children.
