Actor and Writer. He will best be remembered for his role as the blue-faced genie, Jambi, on 'Pee-wee's Playhouse,' which he played for nearly five years, from 1986 to 1991. He got his big break as a member of the groundbreaking Groundlings improvisational comedy group, which made a star out of "Pee-wee" creator Paul Reubens. Paragon was known for his genie chant of the iconic magic words: "Meka leka hi meka hiney ho." He also wrote several episodes of the show, earning him an Emmy nomination for Best Writing in a Children's Special. Among other television and made-for-TV movies he appeared in were 'Madame's Place,' 'Cheeseball Presents,' 'Movie Macabre,' 'Cheers,' 'Sledge Hammer!,' 'Seinfeld,' 'The Elvira Show,' 'Night Stand' and 'Saturday Night Live.' On film, he had roles in 'Cheech and Chong's Next Movie' )1981), 'Eating Raoul' (1982), 'Going Berserk' (1983), 'Pee-wee's Big Adventure' (1985), 'The Frog Prince' (1986), 'UHF' (1989), 'Honey, I Blew Up the Kids' (1992), 'Twin Sitters' (1994), 'The Rich Man's Wife' (1996), 'Red Riding Hood' (2006) and 'Pee-wee's Big Holiday' (2016). His death was attributed to cardiovascular disease with other significant conditions.
