She was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of Phil and Patsy Rickman Cook of Canton. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Finley and Novella Smathers Cook. She was employed with the American Red Cross for five years as a phlebotomist. Ericka was a 1990 graduate of Pisgah High School.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Cade Gaddy; two daughters, Shae and Carrigan Gaddy; a sister, Amy Singleton and her husband, Brandon; a special friend, Daniel Worley; her former husband, Charlie Gaddy; maternal grandparents, Carroll and Billie Rickman; two nieces, Emily and Haley Birchfield; a nephew, Brody Singleton, all of Canton; an uncle, Michael Rickman of Atlanta, GA; and four aunts, Alba Jo Sanford, Amanda Robinson, and Melissa Rickman all of Canton, and Gail Cook of Waynesville; a sister-in-law, Tracy Mann and her husband, Mike, and their children, Nathan, Bryana, and Gracie.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Morning Star United Methodist Church with the Reverend Doug Love and Reverend Dr. Rick Gosnell officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the home of her parents.
