EDITH MEADOWS LEICESTER, 74, of 3204 New Leicester Highway, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998 at her residence. She was a native of Madison County, and the daughter of the late George Caldwell and Ethel Messer Caldwell of Hot Springs. She was the wife of the late Wade Meadows and a member of Meadow Fork Baptist Church.

Surviving, In addition to her mother, are a daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Tommy Clark of Leciester and son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Mary Meadows of Asheville; sisters, Thelma Keener and Lauri Price both of Greenville, S.C., Jean Sutton of Tazwell, Tenn., Maude Strickland of Leicester, and Edna Caldwell of Hot Springs; brothers, Walter of Waynesville, Charles of Newport, Tenn., George of Hampton, Va., Carrol of Vallines, Va., and Ronnie of Asheville; grandchildren, Glen Dale Meadows Jr., and wife Suzanne of Winter Harbor, Me., Merri Lynn Meadows and LeAnn Meadows of Asheville; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Tristian Meadows of Winter Harbor, Me. , i

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Revs. Matthew Sams and Frank Willett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Bowman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to services. Bowman Funeral Home, Marshall is in charge of arrangements.
