Lillian was the daughter of William and Lillie (Barker) Shotton. At age 3 her family moved to Stonington, Ill.

After graduating from high school she moved to Peoria, Ill. She worked her way through Brown Business College in Peoria. She worked as a bookkeeper in Peoria for many years.

In 1941 she married Frank X. Smith. In 1984 she moved to the Elbert A. Smith Retirement Center in Independence, Mo.

Since her baptism at the age of 8, she was an active member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Community of Christ). She attended the Peoria, Ill., congregation and the Stone Church congregation when residing in Independence. Lillian was a longstanding member of the Independence Regional Health Center Auxiliary and enjoyed traveling.

Her husband in 1971, her parents, five brothers and four sisters predecease her.

She had no children and is survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great-grand nieces and nephews and cousins.

Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will be in the Parkview Cemetery, Peoria, Ill., at a later date.
