Barbara Walker Lewis, age 69, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at her home in Rocky Mount after an extended battle with cancer. During this time, she was surrounded by loving family who ensured her every need was met.
Barbara was born September 9, 1951 to the late Herbert Alton and Mavis Thomas Walker. She grew up attending Falls Road Baptist Church where she was saved and baptized.
Barbara was a beautician and entrepreneur who owned Kountry Klippers and Haircuts by Barbara. She was devoted to her profession and maintained many lifelong customers until her cancer diagnosis. She always loved to laugh and will be remembered for her vibrant personality, as well as her love of Christmas. She was an avid reader, an artist, and she also enjoyed sewing. Her devotion as a wife, mother, and grandmother will always be remembered. Barbara cherished every moment spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren and reminded us daily about the importance of family.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Lewis, sons, Ken Lewis and his wife, Jenniffer, of Nashville; Scott Lewis of Rocky Mount; daughter, Leigh Wade and her husband, Paul, of Nashville; grandchildren, Jacob Wade, Trey Lewis, Gracie Wade, Kaeden Lewis, Garret Lewis, Anna Beth Wade and Michaela Sims; two brothers Greg and Tim Walker.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
