Helene, age 82, died at a Perrysburg nursing home. She taught art at Lawrence Junior High School from 1930 to 1937 and an art instructor at a Nashville, Tenn., school from 1937 to 1970. In 1974, she returned to Lawrence for the dedication of the William Inge Memorial Theatre at KU, which is named after her brother who died in 1973. She married William Bradford Connell II on June 6, 1937, in Independence; possibly divorced. Services were held at First Presbyterian Church in Independence, Kansas. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
