Juanita Bennett of Philomath died Monday, Nov. 30, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis. She was 81.
She was born in Philomath, the daughter of Walter and Lydia (Madden) Wyatt. She lived in Philomath and later moved to Alsea where she graduated from Alsea High School.
She married Carl Bennett on April 11, 1936, in Philomath. Except for a short time after her marriage when she lived in a logging camp in Marion Forks, and when her family lived in Alsea, she lived in Philomath her entire life.
She was a homemaker and owned a beauty shop in Harrisburg. She was later employed with The Clothes Tree in Corvallis. She and her husband owned and operated the Myrtlewood Shop in Philomath for several years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, golf, bowling, card clubs and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Bennett of Philomath; daughters Janice Bennett of Corvallis, Karen Berklund of Philomath and Joanne Thomas of Philomath; sons Dennis Bennett of Philomath and Don Bennett of Albany; sister Maxine Brown of Corvallis; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters Janice Wyatt and Madelon Young.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at McHenry Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Thomas will officiate. Committal services will follow at Mt. Union Cemetery.
