The Honorable Mrs. Annie Mae Murphy, 75, passed away on November 3, 2020 peacefully at her home in Perry, FL. Annie Mae was born May 3, 1945 in Foley, Florida to Melvin Hathcock and Mae Hart Hathcock.

Annie Mae was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 44 years. She served in the Clerk’s office for 29 years before being elected as the Taylor Co. Clerk of Court and Comptroller for 28 years. She was elected Clerk of the Year for the State of Florida in 2019.

Annie Mae was preceded in death by her father Melvin Hathcock, a brother Marvin Hathcock.

She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 55 years Luke Murphy, two daughters Joannie Lynn Murphy, and Rebecca Ann Murphy; two grandsons Luke and Brantley Haney, brother Richard Hathcock (Sandi), Barney Hathcock (Ann), Tommy Hathcock (Sharon), sisters Charlsie Lee Shoaff (Chuck), Charlene Valentine as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Ben Kimmell and Bro. Danny Lundy officiating. Entombment services will follow immediately afterwards in Pineview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church. Face coverings are optional but the family prefers they be used for the visitation. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
