Lifelong Putnam Resident Succumbs
Special to the Times Union

PALATKA, Sept. 8 -- Duncan Bohannon, 79, lifelong resident of Putnam County, died at his home at Springside late yesterday afternoon after a lenghthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Bardin Bethany Church with the Rev. L.T. Ivey, assisted by the Rev. W.L. Wilkinson, conducting the services. Internment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Masonic Rites observed at the grave.

Mr. Bohannon had lived in the Springside section all his life. He operated a general store for many years.

Survivors include: Three sons, Ivan Bohannon of Russell; Raleigh Bohannon and W.W. Bohannon of Jacksonville; a daughter, Mrs. Celia Cribbs of Springside, and a sister, Mrs. Cynthia Lee of Starke

1. Nancy C Minton 23 Mar 1882 Putnam County, FL (Grave 25261498)
2. Mary Texas Osteen 3 Mar 1887 Putnam County, FL (Grave 25261491)
3. Jeanette Ellen Edwards - married aft 1893 She may have been married before, as I found a Jeanette Upchurch (spelled Gettnet Upchurch) who married Duncan Bohannon on 29 Dec 1915 in Putnam County, Florida.
