"Leon Garlington, Sr.
"Leon Garlington, Sr., age 82, of Fordyce, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Fordyce.
"Born December 5, 1924, at Fordyce a son of the late Steve Jackson Garlington and Tommie McGriff Garlington.
"Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Ramsey Garlington; two brothers, Steve Garlington, Jr. and J.C. Garlington and one sister, Evon Garlington Barnes.
"Garlington worked many years as a forester for Fordyce Lumber Company and Georgia-Pacific. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army sserving during World War II.
"Survivors include one son, Leon Garlington, Jr. of Fordyce; two daughters, Linda J. Peters of Channelview, TX and Joan Vise of Fordyce; one brother, Jackie Dean garlington of Tinsman; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
"Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, at Shady Grove Cemetery by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
