Anneliese M. Saenz, 82, died Aug. 3, 2007, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield, CA following a brief illness.

Lisa was born in 1925 in Warnburten, W. Germany to Franz and Anna (Neumeier) Maier. She grew up in Germany and attended nursing school in Stuttgart. Following World War II, Lisa met and married Hector Jose "Joe" Saenz, a handsome American soldier and member of the occupation forces. Lisa joined her husband in the United States and together they raised two children.

In America, the family lived in military towns in Texas and Southern California, and eventually settled in Fairfield, where she remained until her death.

Lisa worked for 18 years as a nurse's aide at Intercommunity Hospital in Fairifeld. She was a nurturing soul and caring for other people came naturally to her. Gardening was a passion for Lisa. She was widely known for her green thumb and especially for the exquisite roses that adorned her front yard. Lisa also loved to exercise, spending a few hours every day at a local health club where she especially enjoyed water aerobics.

Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hector Jose "Joe" Saenz; her sisters, Emma, Tina, Julianna, Maria; and her brother, Ernst.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joe Saenz and Kathie Norris; daughter,Tinamarie Saenz; grandchildren, Derrick, Sean, Kayta and Joshua; as well as great-grandson, Julian, all of Fairfield; and devoted sister, Hildegard Flewelling of Orono, Maine.

Lisa was 82 years old when she died.
