Obituary for Ricky Nelson Cook
Mr. Ricky Nelson Cook, 59, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his home. He was born March 2, 1954 in Lancaster, a son of the late Lester Rufus Cook and Sally Pauline Ray Cook. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He was a faithful member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church, where he was choir director, and was active with the youth of the church. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when he was on his tractor. He loved fishing, playing music and spending time with his family. He was owner operator of Cook’s Transmissions, LLC.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Cook will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Anderson and Rev. Mike Catoe officiating.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife, Cindy C. Cook; two sons, Cory H. Cook and Lester J. Cook both of Lancaster; a daughter, Marni C. Peavy and her husband Terry of Lancaster; a brother, Harold Cook and his wife, Hilda of Lancaster; two sisters, Rachel C. Helms and her husband Michael and Janice C. Moore and her husband Terry all of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Lauren Peavy, Lindsey Peavy, Grayson Peavy, Landon Peavy and Kinsley Cook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Cook.
The family will greet friends following the service at the church and will be receiving friends at the home of Marni and Terry Peavy, 410 Edgewood Court, Lancaster.
