Gracie Bowens, 83, of 971 Cody Rd. Marshall, went to sleep in death after a brief illness on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
Gracie was born September 9, 1928 in Madison County. She had unconditional, outstanding love for her children and family. Her love for beauty and the earth made flowers and gardening her favorite past time.
Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Vinnie Moore Bowens; Elaine Wyatt, who she thought of as her daughter; sisters, Altha and Minnie; brothers, Fred, Perry and Gilbert.
Surviving are her twin sister, Macie Boings; daughters, Joyce Angel, Linda Worley and Judy Chandley; sons, Leslie and Eddie Bowens; grandchildren, Selena, Tanya, Verlon, Stacey, Bruce, Teresa, James and Jason; and a special granddaughter, Stephanie.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home with the Reverend Phillip Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Bowens-Ingle Cemetery.
