Macie Boings Bowens, 84, of Cody Road passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at her home after an extended illness surrounded by her family. She was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County and a daughter of the late Harrison and Vinnie Moore Boings. She also preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Wyatt, sisters; Gracie Bowens, Altha Mars and Minnie Morrow, brothers, Gilbert, Fred and Perry Bowens. She was a member of Grapevine Baptist Church.

Surviving is one son, Eddie Bowens and wife Gail, and others that she thought of as her own, Leslie Bowens, Judy Chandley, Linda Worley (Roger), Joyce Angel (Doug), grandchildren; Teresa Penland, Bruce Bowens (Christy), James and Jason Wyatt and a special niece Stephanie Angel, great grandchildren; Trever, and Austin Bowens, Haley and Hunter Penland and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Phillip Parker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bowens-Ingle Cemetery, Sissy Cove Rd., Marshall, NC.
