Professional Hockey Player. For six seasons (1947 to 1953), he played at the left wing position in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers. Raised in Ontario, he began his career with the Galt Red Wings prior to being promoted to the NHL during the 1947-1948 season. He will be remembered for scoring the winning goal with Detroit during the 1950 Stanley Cup Finals in overtime of game seven which clinched the title for the Red Wings against the New York Rangers. In 351 career regular season games, he compiled 86 goals with 73 assists.
