Howard D. Harper, former president of the Duro Test Corporation, North Bergen, and father of actress Valerie Harper, died Sunday. He was 75. A resident of Glen Rock for the past 22 years, Mr. Harper worked for Duro Test, and its subsidiaries (Jewel Electric in Fair Lawn, and Luxor Lighting and Duro Lite, both in New York City) for 35 years, retiring 10 years ago, but was still called on as a consultant. Mr. Harper was born in Davenport, WA. He played professional hockey with the Oakland Shieks and the Seattle All-Stars. In his spare time, he was an avid tennis player and fan. Surviving are his wife, Angela (Posillico) Harper; one son; three daughters; one sister; and five grandchildren. A mass will be said tomorrow at 9:30 AM at St. Catharine's R.C. Church, Glen Rock, with entombment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Fair Lawn.
