Professional Football Player. For eight seasons (1961 to 1968), he played at the fullback and halfback positions in the American Football League with the San Diego Chargers and Buffalo Bills. Born Keith Payson Lincoln, he was raised in California where he attended Monrovia High School. He played collegiate football at Washington State University where he was initially a quarterback before moving on to fullback in addition to punter. Selected by the Chicago Bears during the 5th round of the 1961 NFL Draft, he ended up with San Diego of the AFL. In 1962, his versatility was on display as he returned a kickoff for 103 yards and scored a touchdown. He experienced a world championship with the Chargers' team which captured the AFL Title in 1963. During that game, Lincoln provided phenomenal offensive numbers with more than 200 rushing yards and 100 plus receiving yards with a rushing and receiving touchdown each. He received Player of the Game honors. During the course of his career, he distinguished himself as he received all star status 5 times and all pro honors twice. He totaled 99 career regular season games. After retiring as a player, he remained in the sport and served as a college football coach.
