Ruby D. Truman, 94, of Spencer, W.Va., died Feb. 18, 2005, at Roane General Hospital, Spencer, W.Va.
She was born Oct. 1, 1910, in Oka, Calhoun County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Fred and Edith Cottrell Simons. She was a farmer, homemaker, and a Methodist by faith. Ruby is survived by six daughters, Virginia Dye of Glen Ferris, W.Va., Wilma Boggs of Spencer, W.Va., Leona Jones of Ripley, W.Va., Nina Sanchez of Spencer, W.Va., Loretta Snodgrass of Left Hand, W.Va., and Netta Ruth Harold of Spencer, W.Va.; two sons, Randall Truman of Charleston, and Ron Truman of Chloe, W.Va.; one brother, Cam Simons of Ravenswood, W.Va.; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Greeley Truman; one son, Leo Truman; and four granddaughters, Marsha Lynn Harold, Linda Sue Moore, Pamela Kay Perdew, and Patricia Ann Shimp.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, W.Va., with the Rev. Dewey Tanner officiating. Burial will be in the Cottrell Cemetery at Oka, W.Va.
