Prime Minister of Uganda. He served as the 8th Prime Minister of Uganda from April 5, 1999 to May 24, 2011. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in economics, with honors, from Makerere University under London University. He went on to earn his Master of Arts degree in political science from the University of Chicago (United States) and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Nairobi (Kenya). He served in various academic positions at Makerere University from 1978 to 1996, when he was appointed Minister of Public Service in the Uganda Cabinet. Two years later, he was appointed Minister of Education and Sports, and served in this position until he was appointed prime minister in April of 1999. He served as prime minister under President Yoweri Museveni until 2011, when he stepped down.
