Professional Football Player, Actor. For twelve seasons (1970 to 1981), he played at the defensive end position in the National Football League with the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders. Born Cedrick Ward Hardman, he made his initial impression on the football field during his years at George Washington Carver High School in Texas. He played on the collegiate level at the University of North Texas, first as a running back, prior to moving to the defensive end position. During his years at North Texas, he recorded 38 sacks, including 11 in one game for the 1969 season. Selected by the San Francisco 49ers as the ninth overall pick during the 1970 NFL Draft, he totaled 171 career regular season games. He distinguished himself when he achieved Pro-Bowl honors twice (1971 and 1975). After he was acquired by the Raiders, he experienced a Super Bowl title (1980). In addition to his football career, he had acting roles in the films "Stir Crazy" (1980), "House Party" (1990), and the television shows "Police Woman" and "The Fall Guy".
