Flora Jean Roe, 93, of Bethany, OK, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at the Ranchwood Nursing Home in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Flora Jean was born October 29, 1925, in Kiowa, Oklahoma to David Gay McCullar and Willie Lee (Farmer) McCullar. She was the fifth of ten children in her family. Flora Jean spent over half of her life in McAlester, Oklahoma, marrying Jimmie Roe on September 5, 1944. They were blessed with five children. She was a homemaker and also worked several occupations throughout her life. She attended First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School, playing the piano when her children were small. She loved the Lord and loved to sing in the Church Choir.

In the late 1970s, she moved to Bethany, Oklahoma to be near her daughter and family. She took care of the elderly and was a companion with them in their homes for many years before retiring at age 70.

Flora Jean was preceded in death by her former husband, Jimmy Roe; her firstborn son, Danny Roe; her parents, David Gay McCullar and Willie Lee (Farmer) McCullar; three brothers, and four sisters.

She is survived by her children, Gary Roe and wife Faye of Krebs, OK, Brenda Eastwood and husband Nowlin of Yukon, OK, Jimmy A. Roe and wife Barbara of Antlers, OK, and Kenny Roe and wife Twyla of Oklahoma City; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Merlynn Nelson for her caregiving and loving, faithful friendship to Mom. Also, Ranchwood Nursing home employees for their care of Flora Jean for the last five years of her life. A special thank you to Physicians Choice Hospice for their love and special care of Mom.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Mercer-Adams Funeral Chapel, Bethany, Oklahoma.
