She was enrolled for first grade at Dayton High School. Her schooling continued there through seven grades and four years of high school. In the spring of 1939, she graduated with her class. That fall she entered Shenandoah College and earned a Certificate in Business over the next two years.
She applied for and received a job with Chesapeake & Western Railroad in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She remained there until her marriage.
In the fall of 1947, she married Harry Lee Price of Richmond, Virginia. Harry worked for Reynolds Metals for over 30 years. They lived their entire married life in Richmond. Harry died in June 2000.
June and Harry were the proud parents of Marla June Price of Fort Worth, Texas and Harry Hamilton Price of Indianapolis, Indiana, who survive. Besides her children, she is survived by a nephew, Sherrill H. Propst of Weyers Cave, Virginia, and a special great-niece, Mary Emily Miller Van Pelt of Mount Crawford, Virginia and a number of great-great-great and great-nieces and -nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend and caregiver, Judy Simmons.
Burial will be private at Dayton Cemetery, Dayton, Virginia.
In place of flowers, friends are requested to make a donation to their favorite charity in June's memory.
