LEXINGTON – Louise Poston Register, 83, was born on March 13, 1934 and died on Sunday, September 3, 2017. She was the daughter of the late, Henri Louise and Howard Poston, Sr. of Kingstree. Louise was a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was a beloved wife, mother, Nana and friend. She was the example of grace and kindness and served many years at Lexington Medical Center as an employee and volunteer. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lexington. Louise was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Frank Register, Jr. In their younger years, Frank and Louise were avid travelers and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was also a lifelong supporter of the Carolina Gamecocks. Surviving family members include her daughter, Melissa Register Porth and husband, Calvin Porth of Lexington; son, William Stuart Register and wife, Lisa Register of Chapin; grandchildren, Laura Porth Dukes and husband, Wayne Howard Dukes, Jr. of Reevesville, David Carl Porth and wife, Elizabeth Wyatt Porth of Lexington and William Tyler Register of Chapin; great-grandchildren, Emma Cate Dukes, Wayne Howard Dukes, III and Jackson Dewitt Porth.The family would like to thank the many caregivers that provided loving care to Louise. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1130 St. Peter’s Road Lexington, SC 29072.
