Our dear wife and mother, Karrie Fitzgerald McDougal, age 66, died December 7, 2018 in Provo.

She was born October 18, 1952 in Salt Lake City to Alta Lucile Okelberry and Jackson Richard Fitzgerald. Raised in Draper, she graduated from Jordan High School and attended Utah State University and Brigham Young University, where she earned her bachelors and masters degrees in educational psychology with a degree in communicative disorders and learning disabilities. She taught special education in the Alpine School District and worked as a speech language pathologist in Special-Ed pre-schools and private practice.

She married the love of her life, David A. McDougal, in the Salt Lake Temple on June 11, 1977. Following their marriage, Karrie served as Director of Personnel at Brigham Young University Hawaii, was the founding president of the Orem High School Community Council, served as a volunteer alongside her husband for thirty-five years to America's Freedom Foundation, and was by his side through various business ventures throughout their marriage.

She was homemaker in the truest sense, always caring for the needs of her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her favorite activities were family-centered with meals, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, holidays, and traveling together.

As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various positions in the Primary and Young Women organizations, taught Gospel Doctrine and Institute with her husband, and served as Relief Society President.

Karrie is survived by her husband, David Alan McDougal; children, David Alan (Nicole Miller) McDougal Junior, Provo; Jameson (Renae Ferguson) McDougal, Vineyard; and Julia (Kevin) Lang, Aliso Viejo, California; six grandchildren; and siblings, Janalee (Brant) Slade, Robert (Lari) Fitzgerald, Kelleen (Kory) Beckstead, and Randy (Katie) Fitzgerald.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Orem Cascade Stake Center, 481 East Center Street, Orem. Viewings will be held at the church on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
