Savannah- Chris Padova entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2007 at Hospice Savannah. He was born in Chatham County, GA in 1969 and lived in Savannah all his life. He was educated in the Chatham County Public Schools and graduated from Tompkins High School in 1989. Chris was an Ambassador for the March of dimes in 1988 & 1989. He was also a 3 time United States weightlifting champion and former World Champion. He was employed by Brasseler USA in Georgetown for over 9 years. Chris loved sports and fishing. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Pearl Gillis, Mother Sue Vandine, and two sisters Marie Vandine and Bonnie Hagan. He is survived by a brother John Roy Vandine and a sister Renee Vandine both of Savannah, a host of nieces and nephews and cousins and friends. He is also survived by an aunt and uncle Henry C. and Ruth Ricks, and J.W. and Edna Gillis. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday May 18th at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday May 19th at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with Rev. Tommy East officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Cemetery in Pulaski, GA. Pallbearers will be Jason Jue, Robbie Odom, Ronnie Hiers, Jamie McCurry, Clinton Fonseca, and Kevin Hagan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul McMillan.
