Corporal Jorge Farinas-Menedez, Foxtrot Company, 3rd Platoon 1968-69. Jorge walked point for 3rd Platoon and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was an excellent Marine and devoted friend. He continued his respect for the Corps, and stayed in touch with his platoon commander "Stormy".
Jorge retired from the Dade County School Board, Miami, Fl. and became 100% Service Connected for an Agent Orange related illness.
Jorge passed away on October 21,2018 with his family at his side at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. A private family service is being held in Winston Salem, NC.
Jorge is survived by his wife Rosa, Children Jorge Menedez Jr. Fausto, Chris, Dennis and Tracy. His grandchildren are Isabella, Victoria, Sebastian, Larenz, Shyla, August , Jovany and Sophia.
