Hilda Duckett Scott, 91, formerly of New Leicester Highway, died Thursday, July 4, 2002.
Mrs. Scott was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Caney and Betty Clark Duckett. She was preceded in death by her husband W. Bain Scott who died in 1990. She was a former textile inspector, a member of Union Baptist Church and a volunteer at Leicester Community Center.
She is survived by one daughter, Harriett Scott Brown and her husband Gale of Marshall; two grandchildren, Gaylyn Johnson and her husband Marty of Marshall and Scott Brown and his wife Marquita of Leicester; four great-grandchildren, Rachel, Allison, Haley and Nathan and one sister, Annie Dee Garrett of Leicester.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday at Union Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Gillespie, Harold Cable and Charlie Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
