Hortense "Horty" Kelley, 88, of Durango, Colo., died Saturday, May 5, 2007. She was born March 31, 1919, in Felt, Idaho, to Roscoe and Sadie Shults.
Hortense married Spurgeon Vernon Kelley, of Falfa, Colo., on May 20, 1940, and divorced in 1968. Horty lived in La Plata County, Colorado, for 67 years.
Hortense is survived by a brother, Garfield Shults; four children, Vernon Neal Kelley, Roger Dean Kelley, Shirley Irene Chase and Sharon Audrey Graham; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jewell Shults; and various nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Hood Mortuary in Durango.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1775 Florida Road in Durango. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.
