Iris Meadows Rimel, 95, of Elkton, passed away, Thursday, August 2, 2018 with her daughters by her side. Born March 4, 1923 in Elkton, she was the daughter of the late William "Buzz" and Reda Ann Lucas Meadows.

On December 20, 1939, she married, Raymond Noah Rimel, who passed away, February 3, 2013.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, a brother, Carrell Jennings "Buddy" Meadows.

Mrs. Rimel was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family members as well as crocheting afghans and bedspreads.

She is survived by her daughters, Floe Koontz and husband, David, Terri Suchodolski and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Rosalyn Koontz and husband, David Hurd, Robin Mongold and husband, Scott, Jamille Prevete and husband, Ken, Elizabeth Hildebrand and husband, Jeremy, Julie Moore and friend, John Humphries and Justin Moore and wife, Raven; great-grandchildren, Ian Mongold, Haleigh Hildebrand, Camden Hildebrand,

Sawyer Hildebrand, Jourdan Prevete, Hudson Prevete,

Emily Prevete and Kendrick Moore; sisters, June Means and Louise McCoy and husband, Ron; sisters-in-law, Arliss Magalis and Clara Jean Comer and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Wayne Wright and Rev. Steve Bird

officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 pm on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shenandoah Recreation League, c/o Julie Comer 2688 Honeyville Rd. Stanley Va. 22851, where she and Raymond enjoyed countless hours watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports or the Harrisonburg-Rockingham S.P.C.A. 2170 Old Furnace Rd. Harrisonburg Va. 22803.
