Born March 4, 1915, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late William Pinkney and Mamie Helton Sigmon.
He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was retired from Maxwell Royal Furniture Co.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Arney Sigmon; two sons, Charles Ray Sigmon of Hildebran and Tony Randall Sigmon of Hickory; two daughters, Mrs. Wade (Peggy) Hedrick and Mrs. Jimmy (Faye) Travis of Hickory; one brother, Richard Sigmon of Hickory; two sisters, Louise Sigmon and Pauline Franklin of Hickory; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, two brothers and a sister.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. J.L. Peeler at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will be taken to the residence today at 4 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the church building fund or the Heart Fund.
