ABILENE - William R. "Bill" Doty, 69, of Abilene, died SUnday, July 29, 2001, at a local hospital. Services will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in the Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m. at Crestview Cemetery in Wichita Falls with military honors. Services are under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd.

Mr. Doty was born August 18, 1931 In Wichita Falls. He worked 23 years as an instrument technician for Conoco. He moved to Abilene in 1982 from DeQuincy, Louisiana. Bill was married to Patsy Ford on May 11, 1956 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She preceded him In death on September 23, 1996. Mr. Doty spent 41 years in the military, both reserve and active duty. He was a member of the Protestant Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Larry and Ben Doty of Abilene; three sisters, Margaret Helen Monroe of Seattle, Washington, Lou Woodward of Wichita Falls and Paula Jo Davis of Carlsbad, New Mexico; two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
