A Private in the Rev War militia for North Yarmouth Co. that was sent to New York and was also in the State Navy. He participated in the Naval battle of the Penobscot Expedition (ME) in 1779.

Daniel, son of Joseph Drinkwater and Janet Latham, was born in 1745 in the Province of Massachusetts Bay. Although records list his birth place as Maine, there was no Maine until 1760. He was a Master Mariner who served in the Revolutionary War. He enlisted in the militia in 1776 as a private. In 1777 he was Chief Mate on the USS Pallas. In 1779 he was Master of the sloop Fortune, which transported provision to troops engaged on the Penobscot Expedition.

Cemetery is at the intersection of Gilman Road and Route 1 in North Yarmouth.
